May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. We at ysp Digital are sending a call to action. Everyone must band together against the hatred plaguing the Asian and Pacific Islander American communities. As Covid-19 ravished the country in 2020, hate towards the AAPI community spread like wildfire.

Over the last year, there has been approximately a 150% spike in hate crimes targeting the AAPI community. People in this country must take a stance against the prejudice, ignorance, and hate that fosters this deadly racism.

“Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future, and renders the present inaccessible.”

~ Maya Angelou

Racism and prejudice are barriers to possibility. Therefore, we must stand firm – be advocates in the fight to end hate, racism, prejudice, discrimination – anything that stands as a roadblock to our potential and possibility as a unified people.

Like Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Remember that the real work begins with us as individuals, don’t be a bystander. Speak out when you see injustice and become the change we need to see.

ysp Digital Agency stands united with the Asian American and Pacific Islander American community to help amplify this message to end the violence and hatred. As a multicultural agency, we exist because of the collaboration of diverse minds, perspectives, and backgrounds.

We stand in solidarity with our AAPI brothers and sisters and encourage everyone to become an Ally. Only when we band together through advocacy and allyship, can we form a clenched fist against ignorance, intolerance, and hatred.
